ET Enterprises Ltd Buys Glass Supplier for Photomultiplier Production
Plowden and Thompson Limited and Tudor Crystal Design Limited.
The glass manufacturing business and assets of Plowden and Thompson Limited and Tudor Crystal Design Limited have been acquired by ET Enterprises Limited, Uxbridge, UK with effect from 9 May 2012.
ET Enterprises Limited (ETEL) is a manufacturer of photomultipliers employing around 100 staff at Uxbridge in the UK. Ron McAlpine, Managing Director of ETEL, has commented that the technical glasses manufactured by Plowden and Thompson Limited are key materials for the manufacture of ETEL’s photomultipliers and this purchase secures their availability along with future glass manufacturing in the UK. Also, the facilities at Dial Glass Works at Stourbridge in the UK will allow additional glass working skills to be introduced there.
Glass manufacturing expertise is being retained with staff from Plowden and Thompson and Tudor Crystal Design being transferred to ETEL. The directors of Plowden and Thompson Limited have agreed consultancy contracts with ETEL and they will continue to be your contacts for glass manufactured under the Plowden and Thompson and Tudor Crystal names.
