Laser Quantum launch a complete 1GHz mode spaced frequency comb
Manchester-based Laser Quantum has launched its new taccor comb, an exceptional supercontinuum typ.1uW per mode with easy access to VIS and NIR ranges, and its first complete 1GHz frequency comb. Previewed at the Photonics West exhibition in San Francisco, USA, in February, the taccor comb is now available to the market. Laser Quantum have partnered with Menlo Systems to create a fully stabilised frequency comb using the Menlo Systems XPS800-E electronics enabling long-term stable RF signal at the carrier-envelope offset frequency with more than 40dB signal-to-noise ratio.
The taccor comb will offer numerous benefits to metrology, optical clock precision and searching for exoplanets. The key benefits include: large comb spacing of 1GHz allowing easy determination of the comb mode index; high achievable power per frequency comb tooth (at 1GHz), approximately 100 times higher than with a conventional 100MHz laser; and a remarkably small footprint to fit into your work spaces.
